I have been thinking about beauty as it exists in the universe and its relationship to the christian God for a while.  I think the excitement generated by math is that it is how we model the real world as created by God full of his glory.  

Euler's Identity may not mean much to most of us, but the numbers used to generate the identity are seemingling magic.  The natural log, i, and pi are all numbers that are very useful and describe properties of physical phenonomanom.  It is pretty amazing that we can pull concepts from dissociate mathematical rigors and tie them together.

Another thing that is important to point out is that the majority of the great mathematicians in history (Eulier included) were able to be successful in their discipline because they were describing and working in a universe created by the God of Christianity.  Even the great philosophers of the Greeks could only get so far because they did not know their creator.</description>
